LUEBECK: City of Science 2012!
Applicants to the Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering in Luebeck must have a university or university of applied sciences degree (e.g. Bachelor's Degree) in one of the following areas:
Additionally, applicants with a master's degree in a comparable field can also be enrolled in this program.
Students must have a bachelor's or diploma degree with a grade of 2.5 or better (German grading system).
The required minimum length of your previous bachelor's program (not your personal length of study!) must be 7 semesters (3.5 years). Students with a German Bachelor degree of 6 semesters can ask for admission on special conditions.
Applicants from non English speaking countries must prove their English language proficiency. They should have an international certificate such as TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge Advanced Cetrificate. Each September/ October there is an English Test in Luebeck which is required for all new BME-students except native speakers. This test is for the students as well as for the lecturers to see who is good in English and who might have to study to a greater extend. If there is more knowledge needed students have to arrange a further English study on their own. For details of the language requirements refer to the downloadable lists at "Hints for the application procedure" at Application procedure.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who hold only a degree in medical sciences (MD) or a degree in business sciences (economics) without a second technical degree do not fulfill the requirements to apply to this master's program.
Applicants are admitted to the program by a committee decision, as well as their grades and length of study from their first technical degree.
The committee may ask applicants to participate in an interview in order to help them make their final decision.
Since all bachelor's degrees are not equivalent worldwide, the decision to admit applicants will be made on a case-by-case basis.
