Your chances are very good to fulfil the general requirements if your first degree is included in the official list of required fields and the standard length was 3.5 years (7 semesters) or more. If you don't find your degree in our list, please send us a transcript of your previous studies with all of your lectures/laboratories and the related grades, only by e-mail! After verification of your transcript, we can give you an answer about fulfilment of the general educational requirements. Please note that this will only be an unofficial statement! On the other hand you avoid the efforts and costs for the official application. Information - FAQ
Both of the above degrees and other degrees without a broad technical background do not fulfil the educational requirements of this program. We appreciate the interest of persons with such degrees, but unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications since the educational backgrounds are not suitable for the course. The program is designed for technical engineers or graduates with a technical background. top
At present our university does not have an Institution Code to send your TOEFL test result directly. Therefore, you are requested to send us a certified copy of your TOEFL test card along with all your documents. At least you should achieve 210 points of 300 to be accepted. Apart from the TOEFL test there are more tests being accepted (e.g. IELTS); here you should as well achieve about 70% of the maximum score.
It's to your best advantange to speak German. But since all lectures and exams take place in English you can attand the Master's Program without understanding German. You have to take care of your own living expenses of at least 600 Euro per month. Apart from travel costs and university's application fee you have to pay for a room, food and other things such as telephone, or maybe activities such as cinema, theater etc.
We are happy to inform you that we are offering this course without any tuition fees for the students. You only need to pay the application fee and, like every student in Germany, approximately 90 euros per semester, which is split by the Student Organization "Studentenwerk Schleswig-Holstein" and the "General Student committee - AstA", both are non-profit organisations. They support activities for students, the dormitories, the student restaurants, the free bus in Luebeck for students and much more.
The easiest way is to apply for a room in a dormitory.
Please have a look on the internet for the universities' dormitories: Studentenwerk Schleswig-Holstein; they offer single rooms from 150 up to 295 Euros per month.
As well you can look for a private dormitory, e.g.: Studentenwohnheim im Bildungspark, they offer single and double rooms from 199 Euros to 399 Euros per month.
If you want to look for a private room you will find many shared flats in Lübeck. There are a few German homepages where you can search, e.g.: www.studenten-wg.de
